Training and
Skills Calculations
Training
and skills Based on the article Skillcalculation by Dagor Dragontooth and Halfhigh
General information
What is counted is not how many hours you train, but how many hits you give or
receive.
Training in Rookgard is wasted, if you are planning on going on to main,
as non-vocation characters gain skills like a sorcerer…slowest of all.
Close
combat/shielding
At least one hit of every 30 must do some damage.
Only two opponents are counted for shielding each round.
Knights and paladins gain shielding the quickest. Druids are quicker than
sorcerers and non-vocation characters. ·
Only one shield is counted. ·
A shield in your “arrow space” is not counted. ·
Every Poff, Bloodhit AND Armorhit is counted for shielding. ·
Most training addicts prefer monsters that don’t run away when injured,
like rootworms or minotaurs.
Use as bad a weapon as possible, while still injuring the monsters, to
make them last longer.
Distance
fighting
There is a difference between hits/armorhits and poffs/misses in distance-fighting.
The hits are counted twice on your distance counter and the poffs are only counted
once. ·
This means that there is NO fixed value for a distance-advance and calculations
are impossible. ·
The to-hit chance of thrown weapons is much lower than the ones of shot
projectiles, so projectile weapons give faster advances.
