TibiaBR is the meeting point of every brazilian that there is in the world. With literally thousands of visitors concurring in its forums and a huge server structure to cope with the demand, TibiaBR is not only the biggest brazilian fansite but also the biggest Tibia fansite there is, period. Its owner, Giovanni aka "LokiRJ", who has made reality the old dream of making a living off Tibia, has been nice enough to concede us a few words around his site and the situation in Brazil.

Greetings, it is very nice to be able to interview the admin/creator of TibiaBR. First I'd like to thank you for taking the time to do this interview. Tell us, please... how is it to handle such a big number of visitors?

First of all, greetings for everyone on Tibianews, and a big hug to Carlos Excessus :)

Well, answering the question honestly, to host a huge number of is EXPENSIVE! hehehe too many visits = too many problems = more expenses. But everything haves it's bright side aswell. I like to be the biggest tibia forum worldwide and the most visited site, not only by Brazilians, but by foreign people too.

How is your relationship with CipSoft?
Normal. I always send alot of projects to rise the number of players on Brzil, but it seems they are a bit "scared" to invest here on Brazil. Ragnarok did invested and now haves over 800.000 players who does pay to play. If Cipsoft see at least one main project it'd already rise by 200% the number of players on Brazil.

Are you happy with the support fansite program?
Yes, I just think that lacks contact with them.

How much is your reseller program? How do you handle so many people with your reseller program?
Boacompra.com is the reseller of all premmium accounts on Brazil. We have over 25.000 registered clients, and our sucess on the sales is because we are honest, we have the company registered and we never had a problem with a customer. Thousands of premmium accounts are sold every month with NO complains at all.

How long have you been running TibiaBR? Do you plan for new upgrades soon?
I released TibiaBR.com on 2003 to help the users of a Lanhouse to play. In a short period of time the site began to grow on a huge way and we had to start spending money on it.

I'm thinking about creating a layout this year and maybe add spanish and english version to the site because there are many international visits.

I noticed last year, TibiaBR was also attacked with a DoS. It has happened several times again this year. Can you tell us what you've done to prevent the site from running into DoS attacks again?
TibiaBR.com is always being attacked by hackers. There are thousands of attacks every single day. The only effective way to cease the attacks is paying for an expensive firewall and have a good host. On current momeny I'm on one of the better hosts in the world, www.theplanet.com.

I have a good friend that configures all my servers inside of the theplanet.com, without him I'd be lost in the middle of nowhere. I really thank him with all my heart for everything that he does for me. Without this person TibiaBR would never come to existance. Even though this person lives in Washington and I've never seen him in real, I consider him a great friend, with people like this the world would be a much better place.

Do you have any time to play Tibia yourself now? Or are you too busy with the site to enjoy Tibia?
I have no time to play. I just have time for the website. I left my job and opened the company Tibia Propaganda LTDA on Brazil and I survive only from the site. Me and my team really dedicate ALOT of ourselves so Tibia does keep growing on Brazil, but we need a bigger support from CipSoft.

How does it feel to have such a responsibility being the admin of the #1 fansite for Portuguese speakers, as well as the only supported fansite that is for Portuguese speakers?
I feel honored for having such a huge site and for helping so many people. On brazil there are other sites in portuguese, but many are breaking the rules using OTserver and etc..
