Ex-GM Elfarran Brightsoul was interviewed by our ex-staff member Andras Arcane.

Tibianews: Hello there! First and foremost, thanks for taking the time out of your day to allow for this interview!

Elfarran: There is always time to spare for Tibia news ;)

Tibianews: Great! You’ve got more fans than you know, or will have :P

Elfarran: Aw, don’t make me blush…

Tibianews: Hehe. Let’s get started! How long have you been playing this wonderful game of Tibia? And how did you get started in Tibia? What brought you here originally?

Elfarran: Hmm, I must be nearing on three and a half years by now…We got started with a bunch of friends from school... about 10 of us... It was just something fun to do in the afternoons instead of homework xD

Tibianews: Impressive :D Slackers!

Elfarran: A ripe age, if I say so myself ;)

Tibianews: Indeed! :p But young at heart! Moving on :D If you don’t mind sharing, how many times did you attempt to pass the tutor exam?

Elfarran: Hmm… well, without revealing too much… The first time I passed on my first attempt (I studied the documentation for a whole weekend… take about effort!) The second time it took me about 6 tries :P I think I simply assumed I’d still know everything… but that exam is haard!

Tibianews: Haha, yes indeed! They throw in the tricky one’s to throw people off; hidden words are a nipper!… and of course this leads into the next question :D How long were you a tutor before receiving your shiny blue cape, and your self proclaimed “Bow of Banishment”?

Elfarran: Well, the first time I took the tutor test (and passed) was about 2 months after the system was implemented… so if you don’t count my dismissal, quite a long time!

Fun Fact: The tutor system was implemented as of December 16, 2003, which makes February of 2004 her starting year.

Tibianews: How do you feel about the current tutors? Are they in ample amounts, do you think they do their "work" well?

Elfarran: I think that, apart from a few bad apples round and about, the tutor team is excellent, and most of them do a great job and are really fun to hang around with.

Tibianews: So (in your eyes) the tutor system works out well?

Elfarran: Yes, I think it is an invaluable system.

Tibianews: Well, you've been playing Tibia a while, how do you feel about the changes in the game that have taken place since you've started?

Elfarran: Hmm, most have been for the best, and I can certainly understand them... although there are some which I don't agree with -mumbles something about increased levels for certain paladin spells-

Tibianews: How do you feel about the language barriers in Tibia? With so many nationalities, there are a lot of conflicts.

Elfarran: Well, language is an ever increasing problem... it is a sad fact that most foreign players have difficulties with English, which make friendly interaction hard.

Tibianews: What do you think could be done, if anything, to fix it?

Elfarran: I personally think that a simple basic English test upon account creation would help alleviate the problem... that is until the answers get sold in various websites...

Tibianews: Have you had any funny situations with your new position-maybe embarrassing ones that you don’t mind sharing with a huge audience-including most of your fan club?

Elfarran: Embarrassing ones eh…let me think…Oh! Well, there was this time I was trying to make a witty broadcast about Orshabaal, and ended up making a few spelling mistakes, so that I was rather corrected for my English than praised for my wit. That was quite embarrassing, but I don’t think wildly funny unfortunately :(

Tibianews: Haha…picture it! “Zomg! GM’s drunk!”

Elfarran: Hehehe, yes, very unprofessional image indeed.

Tibianews: Some people like to listen to music while they hunt-so, while using your banishing bow, do you have any particular types of music that pleases your hunting?

Elfarran: Hmm… I like listening mostly to the screams of pain and mercy from the guilty >: )

Tibianews: How pleasant… we can all feel safe with you around :P… Do you get “stressed” with your newly acquired cape (mainly with the rude or disrespectful players)? Or do your arrows eliminate the stress factor?

Elfarran: My main source of stress are the “oh-so-slow” forums and account pages, especially when I’m trying to answer reports and complaints. Thankfully, a few shots from my bow makes the rude and disrespectful quiet down, so I don’t really get stressed by them ;P

Tibianews: If you could see one thing added to Tibia, what would it be?

Elfarran: Thinking wildly, a new boss monster that always appears when a person is macroing >: ) Realistically though, I’d love some new weapons for paladins. Bows can be inaccurate sometimes -thinks of misclicked banishments- (Which were immediately solved by the way :P)

Tibianews: Misclicked banishments? How do you explain those to someone :P? “I accidentally banished you after piercing your heart with my arrow…”

Elfarran: Hehehe, well a formal apology usually soothes it over… Like all good hunters, I carry some tools to remove arrows and heal the wounds they leave :P

Tibianews: Girl scouts, always prepared-couple fast response questions now :D

Tibianews: Favorite vocation

Elfarran: Paladin <3

Tibianews: Why?

Elfarran: Guess what vocation my main character is :P Also I find that sorcerers are overpowered now, and knights are … well… -refrains from making comments against knights- :p

Tibianews: Haha there goes 75% of your fans… favorite house?

Elfarran: Magic Academy Flats… I’ve loved those since my first Premium Account

Elfarran: The insane item requirements (and pathetic drop rate) for most addons

Tibianews: We hear ya! Some of them are a little… never going to happen :P Most favorite thing about the recent update?

Elfarran: Rum! (and the quest system also… while hard, the quests are still the most fun they’ve been)

Tibianews: Alrighty, last question, don’t want to take too much of your time- if you could broadcast one message to everyone (all 72 servers), at once, what would it be?

Elfarran: Well, I haven’t been able to woo Marina with my poems yet, so I think the poets of Ab’Dendriel have their jobs secured for now :p

Tibianews: Maybe you should banish her.

Elfarran: If I had been a GM in the first day of the previous test server… trust me… I would have done it.
