Our ex-staffmember Zanko risked his life and limbs (not neccessarily in that order) by interviewing a true pirate, Captain Jack Sailhawk!

Tibianews: Have you always been a pirate?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Well, always is a bit long of course. But aye, I've been a pirate for the biggest part of me life. Harrr, I started the "job" when I was just a model landlubber, without having done anything piratish. But when I was walking around the port of Thais, the Unnamed Captain, aye that be his name, recruited me as part of his crew. And for five too long years, I've been scrubbing his deck, blimey! That is, until I made him slip overboard, using me own secret mixture of soap and rum. Then, I made meself captain of his ship, the Silver Ale.

Tibianews: What can you tell our readers about your crew?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Me crew? Well, each member of me crew is a dedicated sailor and pirate, always willing to scrub a deck for their cap'n, aye. I've gathered them from every possible layer of the society, most from the lower layers tho, hahaharrr. Aye, they be as seaworthy as me ship. Although, some of them sometimes forget who's in charge on deck, blimey. But a quick keelhaul refreshes their mind easily.

Tibianews: Do you have any Ship?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Obviously mate, or else I wouldn't be a captain, aye? When my former captain's ship, the Silver Ale, got bombed to oblivion, I was forced to commandere meself a new one. In the port of Liberty Bay, I found this deserted wreck, abandoned by the scurvy inhabitants of that scurvy city. Me and me crew decided to fix it and claim it as us own. I named it the Seatorch, because we once almost burned it down, while trying to fix it.

Tibianews: What can you tell us about your childhood?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Blimey mate, why the sentimental questions? I'm a pirate, not someone with a low self-esteem. There be nothing interesting about me childhood. I was smaller, dependent and enjoyed teasing other children, that's all ye need to know.

Tibianews: Have you been in any interesting "quest", "mission" or "anything" lately?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Hm, quest? Do ye mean my daily attempts to kill king Tibianus? Aye, ye could see that as a sort of holy mission, defenitely sort of, hehe. Besides that, not really. Harrr, just the usual plundering and ravaging, ye know what I mean, the average day of a captain.

Tibianews: We heard that the Captain is in love? Can you confirm or deny this rumors?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Aye, I'm in love since I started scrubbing decks, in love with a woman like to other women, in love with ... the sea!

Tibianews: What's the best of being a pirate?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: I guess it's the rum, although it tends to be gone all time, blimey. Besides the rum, I'd say the hat. Aye, I love me hat. And me ship, and the plundering obviously. Aye, the plundering keeps me going, along with the rum.

Tibianews: Do you have any Family?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Yeah, again obviously. If I hadn't a family, I wouldn't be here mate. They're ones that made me, literally speaking. However, they didn't really supported me lifestyle, so I killed them and took all their belongings, hahaharrr!

Tibianews: Did you ever considered changing your life and becoming.... who knows... a normal guy¿?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: No mate, never! The thing with being a pirate is that people except ye to be evil, and although there seem to be some ammount of them so-called "caring people", yuck, the inner urge of every man is to not to care about anything and to be as arrogant and selfish as possible. I have everything I could ever desire, aye: power, rum, me own ship, attention of the ladies and me love the sea. That's all a man could ever need, aye.

Tibianews: Can you read and write?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: I'm educated, aye. As I told before, I started being a pirate since I was a young landlubber. Before that, I have went to school. I have learned the basics: reading, writing, drinking, that sort of things.

Tibianews: And now the question everybody wants to know..... Why did you decide to create a pirate character?

Captain Jack Sailhawk: Hehe, I guess I'll have to step out of my character to answer this question. The decision to create a pirate character was inspired by the upcoming Carribean update back then. Since I'm a co-worker of Tibiahumor, I was asked to write a little story about pirates and the new lands and monsters and such. That's when I created Jack Sailhawk as the main character of these stories, which appeared as newsflashes on Tibiahumor.

Some time later, I decided to really create this character, just for fun. I never had the intention to really play with him after the update. However, sadly, the character "Jack Sailhawk" already existed, maybe created by someone who had read the newsflash. So, I just named him "Captain Jack Sailhawk" and started introducing myself on Secura. The funny thing is that, because I claimed to have been in Liberty Bay and seen all these things, without really spoiling anything of course, some people thought I was a member of Customer Support. Of course, I denied this. I did know more than most of them, through Tibiahumor, but it would unappropiate to spoil this to them. They had to wait till the update, just like anyone else. But it was really fun to play a pirate who came from these new lands.

And after the update, I decided to continue playing the cap'n. Because you simply can't deny the fact that pirates are funny .
