Ex-GM Issalia was interviewed by our ex-staff member Zanko.

TibiaNews: For starters, would you mind telling us anything about the person behind the blue cape?

GM Issalia on Vinera: I'm an Australian female who often gets mistaken for a man in game - perhaps it is the outfit? hehe I play Tibia in my spare time and have seen it change alot over the years I have been playing.

Tibianews: And what about Tibia, how did you find out about it?

GM Issalia on Vinera: I was looking on a website for a free online game and had a preference for something with a rpg style about it.  When I found it and installed it I createdmy first account and then immediately told my housemate who also started playing and still does hehe.

Tibianews: How did you first get your Gamemaster position? And when?

GM Issalia on Vinera: GM Syikan appointed me as his counsellor a number of years ago.  He retired and GM Flattery took me on as one of his counsellors.  It was around thattime that discussions of the tutor system were being held on the internal counsellor forum. The tutor system was implemented and a few months later we counsellors were told that our position was finally being phased out.  It was at this time Iwas asked if I wanted to apply to be a GM and that I was the only counsellor approached, the rest were tutors.  I wanted to hold the flag for the counsellors and applied.  I was appointed the same time as Borr, Wilfred, Erig etc.

TibiaNews: You left the position of Gamemaster a while ago, why was that? And why did you decide to put back on the blue cape?

GM Issalia on Vinera: Yes I did for health reasons. I wont go into it.

TibiaNews: Ah OK. Well what about your first day as a Gamemaster, how was it?

GM Issalia on Vinera: Scary!  They call it baptism of fire and make you do your first ban and then broadcast it.  My first ban was done on Amera and suddenly all I could see was blue text all over my screen (before you tell it to only display in default)

TibiaNews: Hehe, what has been the funniest Tibian law case that you have had to deal with?

GM Issalia on Vinera: Once I answered a rule violation report from somebody who was asking me if gamemasters could please warn before lag starts hehe and another one was a person asking me how you had Tibian children !

TibiaNews: Hehehe. What would be your greatest moment in your Tibian life?

GM Issalia on Vinera: That's a hard question for me.  I love helping people in need out and seeing their reactions, such as one person who was banished for mcing when it was his real life sister online and he had created the account because his sister was too young ... The personal information was his and CS thought it was him mcing until he proved otherwise. This same person had people who attempted to fake his identity and he had to prove himself again. His account has nearly been deleted for such reports a number of times and each time we have worked through it step by step. That is rewarding to me.

Tibianews: Ah OK, now lets talk Tibia, what do you believe you could improve in Tibia, and why? 

GM Issalia on Vinera: eeeeek! lol. One of the biggest problems is obviously those that cheat. So many don't realise how good it can feel to level your own character, reaching those milestones on your own without another person or some toolhelping you. Sadly we gamemasters have set guidelines on what we can and can't do. We often get blamed for the cheaters not getting banished and part of it can be attributed to the fact there are so few of us for so many worlds.

TibiaNews: What about Tibianews, what do you think of it as a fansite?

GM Issalia on Vinera: I think it is great :) Different POTD, some funny and some serious, others creative and more!  The forums are a good, fun feature and the information provided on different game elements is great (weapons, food, travel prices). I like the short news features too :)

TibiaNews: Glad to hear some positive feed back. =). Hehe, and of course you must have known this question was coming. What's your favourite type of chocolate?

GM Issalia on Vinera:   mmmmm chocolate. Hehe well pretty much I'm not into white chocolate. Milk or dark chocolate, plain or flavoured with caramel, peppermint, strawberry, nuts, sultanas ... yummy!
