Tibianews reporter Naicb interviewed the famous monk from Rookgaard, Cipfried, the very first person new adventurers get to meet!
Tibianews: Hello Cipfried, for the first question. Can you tell our readers a little more about yourself?
Cipfried: Yes of course I can. I’m a worker for the wonderful company Cipsoft. I work in Rookgaard, helping the younger players when they first start playing. I can help them with lots of things, for example I can heal them or cure them of their poisons and I can teach them how to talk to us NPCs properly.
Tibianews: Ok, it sounds like an interesting job, Can you tell us what happens in a typical day in your life?
Cipfried: Well I don’t work in days, I work 365 days a year and only get a 15 minute break in the morning to refill my body with caffeine. But usually after my caffeine break I have a few quiet hours while everyone is still sleeping. But after that I have to deal with the lunchtime rush. I usually get the youngsters asking for all kinds of things, for example I often get people asking for items, or itens, they ask to be healed or cured from the evil poisons that plague their body and at least once a week I get abused or asked for my hand in marriage.
Tibianews: Sounds like a hard life! But I bet you would never trade it for anything else.
Cipfried: Of course I wouldn’t, I love my job. I just wish it got paid a little better.
Tibianews: Don’t we all. Can I ask you how you got your job and what your first moments were like?
Cipfried: You surely can. When I was a youngster, I was sitting at the school bus stop waiting for my ride home when four dark wizards approached me. They asked if I was the one called Cipfried. After I answered, telling them that was correct, the one with the robe inscribed "Guido" zapped me and I fell into a deep sleep. When I woke up I was at a strange place dressed in the clothes of an ancient monk. In my pocket, there was a secret document telling me of my new life and job here at the temple of Rookgaard. Soon after that I had my first experience with a "Br". He spoke what seemed to be a weird language, asked me for itens and spammed me with "be mine friend bliz". I stood stunned not knowing what to do. Luckily he soon ran away as he got no reaction out of me. So that’s how I started and what I remember of my first moment in the great land of Tibia. 10 years later I still do not know why I was picked for this job, but I am grateful as I have loved every moment of it and don’t want it to stop anytime soon.
Tibianews: In those ten years you must have witnessed the development of the lands of tibia. Do you like the way the land and buildings have evolved around you?
Cipfried: Yes, I have seen many changes, I’m not sure where they come from as it always seems to happen when I’m taking a nap on the Isle of Solitude. But when I wake up and return to my place I see lots of changes. Most of them are good and keep me interested for hours, but I can’t see a lot as my temple is only a small place in the vast lands of Tibia. I did enjoy the revamp of my temple, I got a shiny new floor and some new pillars in the corners. I often hear of new lands and towns, most recently I have heard of a new island called Svargrond or something like that. I hear it’s cold there and that it holds many more secrets for the players to unlock. Maybe I’ll take a vacation there if I ever get some time off..
Tibianews: Do you see yourself ever leaving your job and being replaced by someone else?
Cipfried: As long as Rookgaard is populated by people I will be here. If it gets any busier I will need an assistant!
Tibianews: Since you have been here so long, you must have heard the secrets of the sword of fury. Could you share them with us?
Cipfried: The sword of fury is guarded by an evil force that we must not talk about. Sorry, but in fear of my life I cannot speak of it.
Tibianews: Ok... Are there any other secrets you know of?
Cipfried: I know of one secret… I heard it in the staff room, I heard that Obi has a crush on Lily, the owner of the druid store.. But maybe that wasn’t the kind of secret you were looking for..
Tibianews: Busted Obi!!

Tibianews: If you had it your way, how would you improve the land of Rookgaard?
Cipfried: To be honest, I don’t think Rook needs a lot of changes. It’s only a place for players to learn about the game and the way it is at the moment gives them the best start possible. I hate it when I see these “rookstayers” power abusing the youngsters and taking all the monster spawns from the ones who really need it. So that, if anything is the one thing I would improve in Rookgaard, I would make it impossible to stay in Rook after level 8. It is what Rook was designed for and what it should be used for.. (grunts)
Tibianews: Well Cipfried, we have come to the end of our chat. It has been a pleasure to talk with you and I hope you have many more years left in your job as “teacher of rook”.
Cipfried: Thank you, young reporter.
Tibianews: Goodbye! (rushes to Tibianews HQ)
