TibiaNews: hiya Lowix and Lady Sooz! Thanks for granting us this interview in your busy schedule so I won't take much of your time - let's get started! Welcome to your first interview at TibiaNews! I hope you are excited as much as we are about our promotion! So tell us a little bit about yourself, how old are you, and how you encountered Tibia/Dolera?
Lowix: I'm 24, and I first encountered Tibia when i was about 14 years old when a bunch of friends told me about it. Well to add to my first question, I'm from the United States and my occupation is a "U.S. Marine"
Lady Sooz: Hiho! I started playing Tibia after I moved back to my hometown from college, my brother and some of his friends played it. Never played any other server!! Been 6 years now. :P But I'm also 24, born and raised in Brazil and studying for the Bar Exam. xD
TibiaNews: We are also aware that you two are married in real life… something not very common to see in Tibia itself! Tell us how this happened.. did you meet in game or did you already know each other? Has Tibia impacted your relationship in any way?
Lady Sooz: For some reason I'm always the one to answer that question... We met while playing Tibia. I was a noobie fresh in Dolera, and became this guy Lowix's runemaker. He was the highest level on the server back then, so our conversations usually revolved around how many backpacks of UH's he wanted to buy. One day we actually started a conversation about music and personal interests and quickly became friends, and the rest was history! We have been together since August, 2005! Our Tibia wedding in May 2006 was one of the biggest events in Dolera, I dare say. It was lovely, we rented the Tibianic and Wolf Tower for the party. And then in December 2007 we got married in real life. His mum actually pranked us with a Tibia cake at our wedding party. xD
Lowix: lol
Lady Sooz: So to everyone's astonishment, there is such a thing as Tibia romance!
Lowix proposes to Lady Sooz and gives here Dolera's only Ring of the Sky
Lowix: I think Tibia has impacted our relationship in a good way. Normally, people have a girlfriend, boyfriend or spouse that ridicule them for playing such a game and spending time on it and neither of us have to worry about that!
Lady Sooz: lol
Lowix: We both understand the enjoyment one can gain from playing it
Lady Sooz: I can definitely say it hasn't impacted us negatively... We keep game issues in game. No point arguing about it in real life.
TibiaNews: Lowix, you’ve been ruling Dolera for quite a while… being the highest level of the server and pvp-enforced must be a great responsibility. Do you find this task difficult and if so, how have you managed to thrive throughout the years?
Lowix: that’s actually kinda funny. It's kind of hard for any "one player" to rule a pvp-enforced or hardcore server. Like right now for instance we're fighting a war that has basically been going on for the past 4 years just with different people coming and going. So i would say no one truely rules dolera, but my key is to keep fighting and keep leveling.
TibiaNews: Tell us about the current war... why is this war being fought, who is winning, and why should people support your side? What benefits are people looking at if your side wins the war?
Lady Sooz: It's hard to keep track of how it started...
Lowix: Well, the current war started brewing when my guild Pandemonium was hunted, because of rumours and fear of the levels they were gaining. Currently the war is pretty close and everyday the server switches control between both sides and those sides being . The war is between the Black Dragon Syndicate vs Crimson Sunset & allies.
Lady Sooz: Like he said, even though there have been periods of truce in the past 3 or 4 years, it's still the same war.
Lowix: I'm pretty confident that our side will win and we can rebuild Dolera and make it a decent server to play
One of the battles Lowix was involved in during this war
Lady Sooz: I think the reason it's time Crimson Sunset lost power is that, in the views of their leader, only his real life friends and their friends, or people of their ethinicity, should be allowed to play this server...
Lowix: If you’re not of Hispanic descent, it’s hard to play Dolera - So we’re here to change that.
Lady Sooz: Sure, there are a few select players that are an exception to that rule, but in essence unless you're one of them, you don't deserve their respect
Lowix: That is the reason the side we're fighting has been so powerful for so long.
TibiaNews: Bots have played a major role in this war and Dolera itself, can you tell us in what ways has it impacted you guys' gameplay?
Lowix: Well, lets just say compared to normal battles our battles are just like SD fests.
Lady Sooz: I can't say it has impacted my gameplay, I choose not to use a bot, and it may put me in disadvantage but I don't mind
Lowix: Agreed.
Lady Sooz: If I take a frag, I can say I did it on my own. And if I die, I have no one to blame but myself. Defeats the purpose of playing the game if you let a bot do everything for you.
Lowix: It's kinda pointless to sit here and discribe it, you should just come experience what it's like to fight it! :p
Lady Sooz: I honestly see no fun in it... But I still long for the days when you had to manually drag a rune and aim it at the target while it moved! xD
Lowix: most definitely
Lady Sooz: Dolera doesn't have a very big cavebotting issue, but the war bots are like a plague. Not surprising, I guess, since most of them were created here in Dolera.
TibiaNews: The flash client is crawling up our back and should be coming to us very soon... how do you feel about it?
Lowix: Excited, loved the test server
Lady Sooz: I, on the other hand, can't say I'm very impressed
TibiaNews: sounds good :p Alright now we're going to move to our fast questions part of the interview.. are you guys ready? You have 5 seconds to answer each question so be quick!
