TibiaNews: Hiya 1NpcKiller! Or may we call you Armored Patrol? Hehe! Welcome to your first TibiaNews interview and thank you for this chance for us to get to meet you!
Armored Patrol: Oh thank you very much, it is my pleasure to be able to participate in a legendary fansite like TibiaNews!
TibiaNews: Hehe, thanks! Now lets get started: how did you begin playing Tibia and why did you pick Pacera as your home world?
Armored Patrol: I was introduced to Tibia by a friend in real life. I began on a PvP server then went to PvP-E, but moved to Non-PvP when I couldnt convince my uncle to play on the PvP servers. I started out as a knight because I was told that it was the most simple to play. I quickly saw the damage potential of a mage however and was drawn to that. After seeing how many times I died I decided that a knight was the best for me. I like being a protector type person anyhow so blocking came naturally.
TibiaNews: That is quite interesting actually! I guess the most important question we are looking forward to ask you today is: What has motivated you to start videos regarding botting?
Armored Patrol: Honestly, at first I started posting videos with dollar signs in my eyes. I hoped to be the next big thing I guess. I thought killing botters on a Non-PvP server would be interesting, but quickly realized that it wasn't all that interesing by itself.
TibiaNews: Wait, what!? Dollar signs on your eyes?! Crazy! But, well, that's how Justin Bieber started...you could've been the Bieber Fever of Tibia! But, tell us then, what is your stance on botting and how CipSoft controls it?
Armored Patrol: Haha, I wish! But, well I would say that botting in any game is bad overall. It degrades the economy and cheapens the achievements of the honest players who got to a certain level without cheating. On one hand I think CipSoft actually might not know how to defeat the botters. You see them coming up with soul points and worms to fight them, then the built in aimbot seemed to just give in to them. On the other hand Ide say that Cip actually doesnt care at all about botters and are just putting on a front. Ive reported so many of the botters that you see in my videos and I end up seeing them online the next day botting in the same spot and a "processed" sign next to my report.
TibiaNews: That is true, many players have different views but yours sum up both sides pretty well! - how do you find out when and where someone is botting?
Armored Patrol: Generally, if I see a knight - I start making a trap.... hahahahaha just kidding! Really, though, if you see a level 65 hunting rotworms that should send up red flags. If you dont see the person however, but you see dead bodies you can follow the body trail until you find out who is in the cave. Another little trick is to check inside the bodies and see if there are gold coins inside; if so...cashing once you find them is a good trick! :D And of course I always put botters on my vip list and give them a cozy little skull and cross bones :)
TibiaNews: What is your favorite bot-killing experience?
Armored Patrol: Well I would say it is probaly a tie between my DH/DS drop and all those botters who catch me in the act and tell me that I'll never get them :). I won't get you? Muahauahau...
TibiaNews: What is the most amazing story behind a video you could share with us?
Armored Patrol: I am actually legally declared cross-eyed and after killing one of the botters, I really thought I was going to fall asleep as my mouse moved back and forth like a hypnotist's watch..
TibiaNews: We recently received news that you were banned, could you give us a little bit more information about this and do you think this was a justified punishment or not?
Armored Patrol: The exact phrase was "this may help you when killing botters on this server." I was banned for inciting rule violation. I don't know what to think about the fairness of it really. I've heard from senior tutors that I was not violating the rules. So is what I do against the rules? It's unclear to me. CipSoft says one thing to the tutors and another thing to the players it seems. I don't believe I should have been punished for doing the community a service, though.
TibiaNews: Do you think Tibians should be punished while acting as a vigillante when nothing is done (ie. botting situation)?
Armored Patrol: Yes and no. I think what I do is against the rules, but if there were no bots ... I couldn't do what I do. I feel that I do a service for the server I play on.
TibiaNews: You mentioned that this punishment could mark the end to your videos, are you planning to fulfill your word or do you plan to continue your videos?
Armored Patrol: I've got a few more videos I'll put out for sure. I just need to come up with a good story to go with them first. After those however, I'm not sure. I think you can yell "FIRE!" only so many times before you realize that the firemen aren't going to help you. At that point maybe you just get out of the building and let it burn...
TibiaNews: How long does it take to make one of these videos?
Armored Patrol: Ok. Get ready to laugh, especially if you don't like my videos! I've spent 5-6 hours on single videos. A lot of that time though is coming up with a good script and trying to find music to go with it. I've listened to a ton of songs and I always write down ones that I like if I don't plan on using it for that particular video.
