How Well Do YOU Know Dago?
1) A chilling sight beneath Mount Sternum

Deep beneath the mountain north of Thais, Mount Sternum, a sinister scenery can be discovered. A sacraficial chamber, guarded by two demon skeletons, where you can find a dead man lying next to the sacraficial stone. After a more thorough examination, a book can be found among the possessions of the dead man. The book, titled “How to summon black demons” seemed to have been written by a certain Dago the mage. Was this the dead body of the deceised magician Dago? And what happened there?

2) Dago the magician
Dago was one of the greatest magicians of his time. He wrote many books on several magic related topics, and is considered as the authority on summoning. Dago perfectioned the nowadays common summon spell, and added a lot of creatures to its list. But he went even further, summoning creatures like dragons and behemoths. During his studies, he discovered the existence of a creature of unspeakable power, which he named the Black Demon. In his most popular book, “How to summon black demons”, he explains the theory behind summoning, and how to go even further than the simplistic summon of something like a demon skeleton. The magician describes the black demon as the perfect summoning creature. He believes it was created as the ultimate summon due to the natural reaction after the countless summoning that occured in Tibia. How and why precisely it happened, he doesn’t know. But Dago couldn’t wait to summon a black demon for himself.
His first attempts didn’t go as planned, eventhough he still broke every summoning-record possible. Dago summoned a regular demon from the demon realm, something considered impossible. Sadly, he couldn’t control the ferocious beasts. As a result to several attempts, he lost a thumb, his favorite pet spider Redips and even his assistant Didimus. All three of them were buried in the Graveyard of the doomed.

However, despite his losses, he went on, kept on trying to summon the black demon. At a certain point, Dago found out what he had been doing wrong all that time. Excited as he was, he shared his findings with his diciple Skjaar. Not much later, a terrible explosion completely destroyed Dago’s castle. From within the depths of Tibia, magma and fire emerged and formed a volcano in the original location of the castle. And Dago himself? Skjaar presumed he lost his life due to the eruption of the volcano, as a result to the summoning of the black demon. The mage’s dicipel built a crypt, in which he constructed a grave for his old master.

3) What really happened?
The dead body found in the sacraficial room was indeed Dago. He discovered that the only way to successfully summon a black demon, was through the sacrifice of lesser beings. The bodies of these weaker creatures would be used as vessels to channel the unholy energies to Tibia. What Dago had not anticipated, was the ammount of energy that was released. The two demon skeletons he summoned to carry the energy-load were far from sufficient. Unable to contain the unholy energies that erupted, they materialised and crumbled the earth, with the volcano as disastrious result. Whether he really succeeded in summoning the black demon, we don’t know, but let’s hope not. Let’s hope the unholy energies that were released dissappeared as sudden as they emerged, and were not able to concentrate into a single being. A creature with such power would for sure be a disaster to Tibia.
