Once a year, from the 11th of November till the 15th, the demonic forces of the demon realm attempt to invade the world of Tibia! Out of ten basins, spread throughout the Tibian lands, demonic creatures will appear to wreak havoc and cause panic in the hearts of men. However, as long as the Light burns, the darkness will not stand a chance. You are needed to keep these ten basins lit for a total of four days! Are you up to the task? Don't worry, you won't be alone. Even Tibianews is willing to lend a hand, with this extensive article about the upcoming Lightbearer's Event!
Our mission
Ten basins can be found burning all around Tibia. Our mission is to ask Lucius for a magical torch and use this to light all the basins for four days in a row. If we succeed the demonic forces will be expelled. But if we lose ... darkness will be swept across the lands! To give a basic idea of where these basins are located, we adapted this map of Tibia and fitted it with the correct locations.
How to start?
To s
tart the event, you first need to talk to Lucius and ask for a Magical Torch . Lucius can be found in the Magician Quarter in Yalahar. However, he doesn't stay still but goes for a walk now and then. However, if you look around the area indicated in the picture, you should be able to find him.

The torch he will give you is enchanted and will protect its bearer. It's not just a bright light source. If you use it as a shield, the torch will also enhance your speed, so make you run faster. This may proof extremely useful when battling against the clock. Once you've received your torch, you can travel to world to light all the basins. But be careful! Occasionally, terrible creatures of darkness will spawn scare away the lightbearers.
Where are these basins?
There are ten locations for ten basins, spread throughout Tibia. We will address them all seperately and provide a map to the exact location. When you use your Magical Torch to light a basin, it will last for another 2 hours. When that time has passed, you need to relight it or darkness will fall and you will fail.
1. Tarpit tomb
The first basin is located in Darama, north-east of Ankrahmun. You can find it
on the first floor of the Tarpit Tomb. This is one of the easiest locations to reach, and its creatures are designed for low leveled players. They are the Doomsday Cultists who will try to kill anyone who dares to light the basin.
2. Drefia
In the south-west of northern Darama, a cult of vile necromancer built the city of Drefia. A haven for undead, it gives home to anyone who is not really living. Caution is required when entering the domain of the dead, in your search for its lightbearer's basin. You'll need to deep down the catacombs to reach the light. To guard the basin, the demonic realm may send in Acolytes of Darkness. But don't worry, they're fairly weak. Eventhough they look like necromancers, they're only half as strong.

3. Dwacatra
The third
basin is hidden inside the infamous prison of Kazordoon, Dwacatra, surrounded by criminals of various races. This is certainly not a place where you want to stay for long. Important: make sure you bring key nr. 3802 with you! You need it to open the doors of the prison. Watch for pick-pockets and beware the dark Brides of the Night. You don't want to be their groom when they see you light that basin.
4. Forbidden lands
Next, we head to the jungle of Tiquanda. Most east of the continent, a mysterious fortification can found. What was first th

ought to be a fortress, was actually a giant wooden wall that protected the inhabitants of Tiquanda against the monstruous creatures of the Forbidden Lands! And it's exactly there you need to travel to light the fourth basin. However, one does not simply walk into these lands. You need the permission of The Blind Prophet. This friendly merlkin will teleport you close to the location of the basin. But be careful! These lands are Forbidden for a reason. If you go in too deep, you can encounter behemoths, giant spiders and even hydras. The creatures that may spawn here are the Midnight Spawn.
5. Hellgate
To light the fifth lightbearer's basin, you will have to enter the realm of the dreaded bonelords, deep within Hellgate! The enter the hellish deeps, you need key nr. 3012 to open the entrance doors in Ab'dendriel. And make sure you know how to leave Hellgate as well. Low leveled players, be careful. The city of the bonelords is home to one of the most powerful entities of its kind, the Evil Eye! Besides him, there might also spawn the assassin-like Nightslayers. They're not very strong, but in large groups they pack quite the punch.

6. Hero Cave
We're half through now. Only five more basins to go! The next one can be find deep inside the Hero cave, north of Edron. You'll have to go past some monks, a couple of dragons, a hero and a bunch of other cave-dwellers to get to the location of the basin. It's near the single demon spawn. But don't worry, you don't actually have to face the demon itself. What you do might have to fight, are the Heralds of Gloom. They will keep their distance, so trap them in a corner and strike hard!

7. Knightwatch Tower
A long time ago, the fabled Nightmare Knights built a watchtower south of the Plains of Havoc, the Knightwatch Tower.
Today, it serves as the main entrance to the Dream Realm. The basin is located south from the tower, and is guarded by the Midnight Warriors, dark Nightmare Knights. Be careful, they're about as strong as a dragon and attack with several at a time.
8. Svargrond
Fancy the cold? Then the eigth basin in Svargrond might be your pick. Mind you, it's not just the coldest but also one of the longest trips (Hellgate being the longest of all). Along the way, you'll face mammoths, ice golems and crystal spiders, so make sure you're well prepared. When lighting the basin, the vampiric Banes of Light might spawn. Be careful, they come in packs and can hit hard!

9. Yalahar

The ninth basin is considered one of the toughest to survive. Level 100 is defenitely advised here! To get there, you need to travel to the Magician's Quarter in Yalahar. Along the way, you will face several Hellspawns and other minor creatures. Once you're at the basin, the dreaded Duskbringers will spawn. These powerful monsters look like Grim Reapers and are about as strong.
10. Ramoa
Last but not least, we need to travel to the bonebeast isle Ramoa to light the last lightbearer's basin. To reach the island, you first
need to have completed a certain quest. On the surface you will find a lot of bonebeast and also some giant spiders. Shadow Hounds can be found guarding the basin, or might appear when you light it.
What's in there for me?
Besides the excitiment and fun of the event itself, there are also many rewards for the worlds that succeeded in keeping the basins lit for 4 days. You will be able to enter the reward room through a teleport in the Temple of Light. The rewards include:
-
Midnight shards that can be traded for money of experience. These valuable items also occasionally drop from the creatures that spawn at the basins.
-
An exclusive collector's item
-
A moon backpack
-
Rings, gems, gold and other valuables
-
Achievements
-
+10% Shared Experience for all players on your game world until November 30.
-
A secret surprise from Santa Clause!
The reward room will stay open for a month after the event is finished.
Free or premium?
Since Lucius can only be found in Yalahar, only premium players can obtain a Magical Torch from him. However, players can pass the torch to free account players. They will then be able to light the basins in the free areas: Dwacatra, Knightwatch Tower and Hellgate. Free account players can also reach the reward room by using the special ore wagon in Kazordoon.
Event Organisation
An event of this magnitude requires the help and coorperation of all players from a specific world. Success or failure depends on a sensitive mix between organised teams and "lone wolfs". Some worlds even work with schedule tables to divide the teams between the different time zones. An example of such a schedule, as used in Secura, can be seen below.
Time is also running out as the event starts in less than a week. Several servers have already started organising the Lightbearer's Event, or at least started discussing it. Important Facts
- During server saves, the time on the basins will keep running. So make sure there is enough time left before rounding up your teams for the server save break!
- One character can trade maximum 40 Midnight Shards for experience per year.
- The Magical Torch can bought only once for each of your characters. It only lasts 24 hours before it dissappears, but you can store it safely in your depot. The time on the torch will stop counting down there.
