That spare bed in your house has been cold and empty for a few months. You are one of the few single females that are left in Tibia, a rare sight to the many eager bachelors that still await to complete the 'I somehow managed to get a wife' achievement. No matter how orc-like your face or your personality is, they would gladly take your hand in marriage before another male steals this rare opportunity, and spends the rest of his Tibian life peering through your window, looking into the life he could have had.
But you don't want just any ol' boy. You want a man. A man who will ride with you till the end of Pits of Inferno. A man who will wait beside you while you skin every last dragon in that cave. A man that agrees your idea to cancel on his friends' hunt and spend hours outside depot with the one he loves was a great one. You're allowed to be fussy with your choice of men, because there's plenty of fish in the sea. But if you're having no luck in finding that perfect Tibian husband (maybe you're being too fussy), then continue reading.
The Perfect Husband
First you have to decide: what are your primary needs? If it's frequent vists to Hugo's fashion warehouse for a new outfit, then you will need a husband with a pretty penny in his bank. A poor man from the slums of Liberty Bay will gift you with leather boots that he stole from his mother, if you're lucky. Wealthy men tend to mingle in the docks of Yalahar, so just strolling past a few times will grab some attention. If you want to be sure of his wealth, ask him upfront. Men are always keen on showing off their bank balance.
If you're looking for a knight in shining armor, play the act of 'damsel in distress'. Throw yourself into a pit of Demons, cry out "OH! I TRIPPED! SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE ME!" and hope that a brave man will jump in after you and defeat the demons single handedly. But make sure there is actually a man there. And a back-up friend who will kill the demons incase the potential husband chickened out. It's not very attractive to die. Unless corpses are his thing.
Alternatively, you may be interested in the "renaissance" man who is perfect in every way: high balance in bank account, knight in shining armor, and a great personality. This will be hard to find just strolling through the docks of Yalahar or the town square in Thais. Be sure you know who you're talking to and who could be a potential husband. In order to find this renaissance man, you may have to speak with the person several times, go on dates, and even get to know them for a few months! Luckily, men (although they may disagree), wear their heart on their sleeves, and hold little back - especially when it comes to women
Getting Him to Like You
Have you found the perfect man yet? If so, great! If not, keep looking. But when you do, here is some quick tips to grab his attention:
- Show off a bit of leg. Sure, it's below 0 degrees in Svargrond, but how can you show off your fantastic figure behind a big poofy coat? The fashion team at Tibian Vogue of Tibianews recommend the latest fashion trend of the Demon Hunter style.
- 'Accidently' bump into him. Alot. Get to know his friends, and find out where his popular hunting spots are (Or use the trusty Exiva spell). Take care, though, as if he's protective of his spawn, then he may resort to luring on you or yelling "NOOB, I'M FIRST". If this is the case, then perhaps you've lost your chance of attracting him.
When bumping into him, laugh and flap a hand, and say "Oh! It's you again! What a coincidence!". Progress into casual conversation. - Boost his ego. LOL at his jokes. Congratulate his rare loot. Compliment his skills, even if they are not very impressive. Little things like that will make him feel like the alpha male of the server.
The Proposal
Your man must have been so busy hunting those Dragon Lords to earn enough money for that noble blue dress you've had your eye on, that he forgot all about "marriage". You have to give him a few hints that you are ready for that shiney new ring, perhaps you could say "Oh, those women in Thais still in their wedding dresses... they look so beautiful. I would stay many days in my dress too. If I had one. Cough."
Alternatively, do the proposing yourself. It's the 21st century in the 'real world', it's not that weird for a lady to propose. It's best not to go for the cheesey candlelit dinner proposal though, as men are not swooned by it.
If you are not sure he will say yes, propose to him mid-hunt, but best works while he's in a very dangerous situation. His adrenaline will be running high and he'll be concentrating too hard on his prey that he'll say yes to whatever nonesense you are nagging about this time. And voila, you're engaged!
The Wedding
It's your big day. Everything must go according to plan, which is why you must pick some (suitable) bridesmaids to help prepare the ceremony for you.Never let your man do the decorating, because a hall full of unrotting corpses and some skulls is not welcome for a beautiful wedding. He should be busy hunting for the cash for the wedding anyway!
Be warned
After the marriage, there are some things you need to get through your head, otherwise, the relationship won't last long:
• You need to trust your husband with all you have, otherwise he will steal all the money possible and skip out of town with a younger prettier looking woman instead.
• If he is ignoring you and training with his friends instead, give him time with the "guys." Men, and husbands especially, need their "detox" time in order to serve you to the best of their abilities.
• Don't try and call your husband pet names like "Panda-Boo" or "Dworciebear." He will feel embarrassed by his friends if you do so.
• Always tell him the truth, even if he thinks he's right. He knows his boundaries and sooner or later he will come back to your side anyway. Sometimes the harsh truth is what counts in a marriage.
• Try your best to not let him leave the house in outfits that don't match - that'll only embarrass not only him, but you as well.
• When he's wondering what you want to do for the day, always leave it up to him, because it will drive him nuts to try and think of something that you would want to do. If you make the decision, that's too easy! Always make it so he thinks about what you want and makes sure you're happy in the end.
