It has been a bumpy road, but our redemption is at hand. It's now 2011, and it's the year of TibiaNews - this, is TibiaNews' revival.

TibiaNews began as only a whisper of spreading the mysteries and intrigue of our beloved game to the community. It's time that TibiaNews takes its crown back for being the number one news source in Tibia. It's time for us to show you what we are made of, our ideas of changes, and what's to come this year.

If you are already an avid reader of TibiaNews, you may have noticed a few new sections already. The Council of Wisdom, an idea since 2005, has finally been released on our front page. This section will continue to be updated and released every Sunday. We encourage anyone who needs advice to send us an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for one of our prestige columnists to answer back.

Another new section of TibiaNews is the "Shorts!" section. Who said role playing was dead? The shorts section is where personal journals/diaries and short stories will be posted about characters in the game, and their experience with it all. Of course, everyone is invited to participate in this section, and we definitely encourage everyone to share their experiences with us there as well! If you have any interest in helping us out - feel free to contact us via private messages on our forums. Who knows, you may even be invited to the staff, elite roleplayer!

In the year of 2011, we have also become more intuitive with our emotions and being able to read the moon, the stars, and its signs. Because of this, the Horoscopes section is back! Formerly being written by Avianna, Cantinelle has awakened her third eye and has become the official horoscope reader of TibiaNews! Every month on the 7th, our horoscopes will be updated. Intrigued? We hope so!

If you may remember, in December of 2010, we had a small segment up called "Everybody Has a Story!" in which we interviewed random players from the "Who Is Online" list to ask them similar questions and get their opinion on it. At TibiaNews, we believe every player has something interesting to say, and therefore, we are re-introducing the section that will star random players, including YOU! We intend to visit every server and ask questions of regular players about Tibia and Tibian culture, attitudes and gameplay. Everyone has a story and we at TibiaNews, your trusted Tibian newspaper, want to hear what you have to say!

Those are all of the new sections you will see at TibiaNews, or have already seen! Moving forward, we have many ideas of which to even add some more sections to the site, including a satirical section called "Tibiascoop." So if you're trying to find some news to make you laugh, or perhaps get you through your manasitting, then TibiaNews' TibiaScoop will have you covered! Worried about people's feelings, or any potential controversy? Well, don't! Because no matter the news' flavor, we always get the scoop.

Another hope for 2011 is finding a new comic artist. We have had a few contests in the past, where our artists have moved on to bigger and better things, but that's okay! We're ready to move forward and create a new comic as well! Details are still in the works for this, so whether it becomes final or not is still up in the air. Of course, if you feel strongly about comics and their return, make your voice heard on our forums!

Moving forward, we know in the past that we have not held that many events, and this could be a huge turn-off for many readers. We understand this and hope to fix the situation immediately. We have staff members working around the clock to think of new ideas for contests and what will please you, our community. We are already working on a seventh birthday contest, and even the fansite world cup event which will hopefully take place this summer! 2011 will see a lot from TibiaNews, and it's time for us to show you how we feel about you; it's time for us to give back to our community! So, to make sure we are heading in the right direction with events and contests, make sure you post on the corresponding thread(s) on our forums, explaining to us your ideas of your "ideal" Tibian contest.

Speaking of staff and community, have you applied for a staff position yet? Staff positions are open for all readers and members! If you have a passion for writing articles, taking screenshots, or even reporting, then what are you waiting for? For the first time ever - we are also looking for translators to be part of the staff. That's right, translators. We have realized that TibiaNews needs to change with the times, so we've decided to release a test on translating our shortnews, columns, and articles. This will be a "beta" version if you will, and a decision of whether or not it will be final is to come in the coming weeks/months. However, if you are interested in participating in the staff, or even a translator, you can visit our applications board on the forum and join us! You will even be featured in our "Meet the Staff" page, too! That definitely calls for some bragging rights!

With all the new sections and work, also comes some sacrifice. We unfortunately have renamed our infamous "Picture of The Day (PoTD)" to "Picture This!" The reason for this is to accommodate our lack of updating for the picture of the day for the past year, and just in case we ever do miss a day again. With still hopes of updating daily, the new section gives us a little bit of leeway to focus a bit more on articles, new sections, and the like in the mean time.

We understand and grasp what has happened in the past here at TibiaNews. We know that we have made promises which never came true, and also know that we have had periods of time where we lacked updating our site. This era has come to an end. It's the year of TibiaNews, and this, with your help, is TibiaNews' revival. With your help, we can make this site prosper more than ever.
